GROWING AREA
The Mendoza wine region of Argentina is located in the eastern foothills of the Andes mountain range. The vineyards are planted at higher altitudes (600 to 1100 meters above sea level), making them some of the highest vineyards in the world. Water from melting glaciers is used to irrigate vineyards. This water from the Andes is full of minerals that enhance the quality of the vines. We must not forget the sunshine, which the vineyards have in abundance almost all year round. The result is a high sugar content, which makes it unnecessary to sweeten. It is even banned in Argentina.
